This episode is dedicated to the new intern and Doug describes her perfectly by saying that she is a hit-the-book student. Although her diagnoses are quick and thorough they are also slow and she has impersonal patient communication. Lucy has to inform a wife of her husband's terminal illness, comfort a pregnant woman, and try to figure out Kerry's guide to the department.
