On Susan's last day at work, Mark falls into a mild sense of depression as 8 critical cases come in leaving him no time to say goodbye to Susan, and he still hasn't told her that he loves her! Peter struggles to get to grips with another pediatric surgery where he allows Abby to take control as he gets a surprise visit from an old flame who wants to relight the spark. Carol meets with nusing admin. over their continual 'floating' of the ER nurses while a very drunk full-term pregnant woman rants on about killing her baby. Doug desperately tries to track down the homeless mother of a baby he innoculated on the Healthmobile. Meanwhile Jeanie finally gets her divorce papers through from Al and will Lydia and Officer Grabarsky finally get hitched?
