Carla starts labour two month's early but there are complications after complications leaving Peter a jibbering wreck. The baby arrives and is sent to NICU while Peter is shunned by Carla and relies on his friends to help him through this difficult time, meanwhile the baby's health doesn't look good. Mark shocks himself at his own vulnerability after his recent attack. Carter is mulling over the idea of switching residencies after yet another run in with Anspaugh. Doug starts his arrangements for a surprise birthday party for Carol. Meanwhile Jeanie and Al look on their way to a reconciliation.
