Jeanie's HIV-positive status causes complications both personally and professionally as she tries to hide her condition from the hospital by paying for her medication by cash, meanwhile Peter doesn't think she is fit to work in the ER. The county health services department decides the fate of the hospital's future, will County get to stay open or will their rival Southside be saved from cutbacks? Carol vainly attempts to sell her house. Mark and Susan wade, and nearly drown, in the world of blind dating. Meanwhile Carter is stuck in the ER treating routine cases after being excluded from Peter's OR after turning up to work considerably late.
