The ER staff are pushed to the limits when they have to treat 22 sick children found alone in a single apartment. Benton gets some good career news. Mark hears that his wife has filed for divorce so drowns his sorrows with pizza and beer at Susan's. Carter attempts toi save a lady's life but his efforts are proved fruitless. Jeannie clashes with Carol over a harsh evaluation Carol had made about her. Meanwhile, Vucelich offers Benton a place on his team as a research assistant as a careless mistake opens Shep up to accusations of racism.
