Confrontations start the New Year with Lewis battling a cardiologist after a heart patient was released and re-admitted in a critical condition. Carter complains about Peter giving him insignificant jobs to do. Chloe announces that she is moving to Texas with her new boyfriend and is taking her baby with her, much to Susan's disgust. Peter's sister has a new job and tells him that they must put their mother in a home because she won't be able to look after her all the time anymore, Peter strongly disapproves, but who's call is it? Meanwhile Linda tells Doug she doesn't think they're right for each other.
