It is five years since the events of the previous episode and the friends have gone their separate ways. Joey's a high-flying book editor in New York with her boyfriend Chris, Dawson's a successful Hollywood executive producer and Pacey manages the Ice House and continues his womanising ways. Jen's a single mother and manages an art gallery, while Jack's a teacher and dating a still closeted Doug. They reunite for Gale's wedding, but tragedy strikes and Grams makes a heartbreaking revelation.
