A surprise visit and confession from Eddie leave Joey questioning her relationship with Pacey. When they both spend a perfect evening at Harley's school dance, Joey decides to tell Pacey her true feelings. Meanwhile, Pacey tries to break up a fight at the dance, which was started by Harley's date. Dawson persuades a reluctant Pacey to invest Dawson's life savings so that he can finance a film project. Also, Grams tells a distraught Jen that she has breast cancer.
