Joey is robbed at gunpoint while walking home alone. However, after managing to get away reasonably unscathed, Joey witnesses the mugger being run over by a hit-and-run driver. She tries to save his life and realises the mugger is very similar to her father, especially when she meets the man's estranged wife and daughter at the hospital. Joey decides to find out why the mugger became a thief and drug dealer, so that maybe she can find out the motives behind her own father's choices.
