Pacey's dismayed to discover that Gretchen and Dawson are dating and, deciding that it must be stopped at all costs, he tries to convince her that she should get back together with her ex-boyfriend. Meanwhile, Joey's locked in a cupboard at the yacht club with her arch-nemesis Drue Valentine and Dawson becomes worried about Grams' feelings for Mr Brooks when he discovers that the old man has cancer, just like Grams' last husband.
