Classy detective drama in which a blunt-speaking experienced officer is teamed up with a whizz-kid graduate. A musically gifted schoolboy is found drugged and drowned in a river. Dalziel recognises the boy and must face up to a tragic accident from his past. Warren Clarke, who has been in everything from A Clockwork Orange to Down to Earth, is the no-nonsense Andy Dalziel, while Colin Buchanan is the bright and keen Peter Pascoe.
