The very first episode in the excellent series of mysteries, adapted from the award-winning novels of Reginald Hill, in which Detective Superintendent Dalziel - a maverick, disgruntled experienced officer - is teamed up with whizz-kid graduate Sergeant Pascoe. The wife of a local rugby star is found murdered at her home and the detective duo have to unravel the tangled little world of Wetherton RFC to find the killer.
