Fifteen-year old Lilia has recently moved from Poland to Glasgow with her mum and sister. Struggling to fit into her new environment and given her poor English, Lilia has no way to communicate with local boy, Brendan. But help arrives in the unlikely form of Tony, a native Glaswegian in his seventies who welcomes the opportunity to teach Lilia English - with a sideline in Scottish slang.
