The fiancée of fireman Rob Deamer asks Rush to help prove that Albert Miller, a convicted felon about to be paroled, is responsible for the murder of Rob's first wife. When Rob's daughter, Gwen, starts threatening Albert, Rush discovers several disturbing facts about Rob, including relationships that ended violently. She uncovers evidence that could clear Albert and convict the true killer.
