This episode has Lieutenant Megan Donner (Kim Delaney) rejoin the Miami Dade county CSI team as they have to investigate a jet plane crash in the Everglades. One of the victims is found five miles away from the crash site. The sole survivor of the crash claims the woman had opened the plane's hatch in order to commit suicide but Horatio (David Caruso) is suspicious.
