Hodges stages hypothetical murders in the lab in order to give his fellow lab techs a chance to act as investigators. Wendy surprises Hodges when she tells him she is thinking about taking the field test to become a CSI, but when she spots a tape recorder under his desk she becomes suspicious of Hodges' motives. Meanwhile, the rest of the CSI team tries to reach out to Grissom following Sara's departure.
