When a man is apparently thrown from the roof of a six-storey building, Grissom, Warrick and Nick investigate, only for the evidence to reveal that he was dead before he hit the ground. With Grissom's hearing problems worsening, he is forced to drop out of the case. Elsewhere, Catherine probes the death of a man who was killed with his own gun.
