Later, while watching the stars, Tara and Willow see a meteor crashing nearby. The Scooby gang soon realises that a demon called Queller has just landed on Earth. Meanwhile, Joyce returns home since her surgery won't happen for another two days, and the Queller arrives at the hospital to attack the mentally ill patients. Due to the compression of the tumour in her brain, Joyce starts to hallucinate and act strangely, but she also sees the truth about Dawn and makes Buffy promise that she will take care of her sister if Joyce dies in surgery.
