While Dawn stays with Anya and Xander, Buffy and Riley spend the night together in the Summers' house. However, Riley leaves in the middle of the night, closely followed by Spike, and visits a vampire nest to feed his addiction for vampire bites. Spike reveals the truth to Buffy, who breaks up with Riley after an argument. When the Initiative invites Riley to be part of an operation in Belize, he gives Buffy an ultimatum.
