Xander is jealous when he finds out that Buffy's exchange student is male. But when they go to meet him, he turns out to be a female. Later when they put together the pieces of a missing boy, freaky mummy girl, and Sunnydale, they go to the museum to find out that something strange has happened to the boy. Xander falls in love with Buffy's exchange student and there is something odd about Ampada. Buffy and Giles stay away from the dance, to try and figure out the mystery. Once they do find out the truth about Buffy's exchange student, they have to try and put the pieces of the seal back together, whilst Giles is dealing with that challenge, Buffy is left to save Xander from Ampada's deadly kiss.
