The very first episode of the classic drama series based on James Herriot's books recalling his experience as a vet in the Yorkshire dales. Newly qualified, James arrives in the Yorkshire town of Darrowby to be interviewed for his first job. It's 1936, and work is hard enough to find, but his prospective employer Siegfried Farnon seems to have completely forgotten the appointment.
