Each year the series producers of this MTV programme put's 7 young 20-something people, who have never met before and whom are from completely different backgrounds, in a house somewhere to live together for a given amount of time and watch their everyday lives unfold.

The show manages to present the 'cast's' spontaneous, unscripted interactions with one another and the world that unfolds around them.

Every year the venue for the show changes and has been filmed in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Miami, Boston, Seattle, Hawaii and New Orleans.
