Brilliant! What an eye-opener to the sort of things that people donate[dump]and the volunteers have to sort through. I thought taking a sample of items into the shopping centre to make people aware was a really good idea.

I also thought the 'with love' tags were fantastic for changing the way of thinking when making donations.

I don't usually comment on a programme but felt I had to after watching this as what Mary is trying to do is so inspiring.

I do make donations but very rarely shop in charity shops for exactly the reasons that were portrayed last night but would definitely start to if the stock was more appealing.

I work in a large charity shop in Greater Manchester. We don't care how many old, worn clothes are donated. We get good money for them from the rag merchant. He sells what he can to poorer countries. We also recycle other items - metal goes to the scrap yard etc. If we have to discard some items we take them by van to the tip. The council lets us do this for free. I only hope that the first programme in the series won't discourage people donating their old things so that we can recycle them for money.

I watched mary queen of charity shops for the first time, by accident as i was flicking through the channels, what stopped me from changing channels, was this self important person (Mary) dictating to hard working unpaid charity workers, and as the show progressed, she taunted a mild and unassuming gentlemen called graham, who did not make the best of use in portraying the window display for the charity shop, mary called graham over and lambasted him with abuse, saying where is her 12 year old daughter, implying she could do better, poor graham who was to polite to say what I would have said, and I can tell you, it would not have been polite, then resigned, mary later on was equally upset when her area manager dressed her down, as the show went on mary confronted the area manager, and asked why he choose to confront her infront of the resigning graham as she felt upset by it and humiliated, so she should be, pot kettle black. Mary who was hell bent on pushing to jazz up the charity shop in Orpington, as if Orpington was the charity centre of the universe,by spending £15,000 on refurbishment and god knows how much on a shop manager, which when pointed out by the charity shop staff was like throwing money down the drain and made them uneasy about it, Mary seems to forget that a charity shop, is there to take money, no matter how small, each penny is vital, pushing up prices drives people away, how many times have you looked at a nice jacket tried it on, loved it, then looked at the price and put it back, not that you wanted to, but because of the price, just because you buy a well known lable in a charity shop at 70% off the retail price, this does not make it a bargain, its only the person who buys it that considers it a bargain or not, if not then the charity shop looses out and also the charity involved, Mary should be careful not to turn people away because of aggressive pricing, then there was a charity worker of 71, who walked away because of Mary's wastefulness of funds while trying to push up prices, Mary comes across as a pushy self important gordon ramsey type of person that can only harm the good name of charity shops and its workers, prey you stop this type of programme and put the BBC's money into more meaningful programmes that premote good causes and the good work that they do, and not premote the hard faced Mary's of this world.

I don't really watch much tv, but it's always on in the background for a bit of company. Mary's drive, passion and purpose is definatley no back ground noise! (so i turned it up)

This Woman, knows exactly what she is doing, SHE IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE with Impact!

What a whirlwind of inspiration, this lady has something very special to contribute to this very worthy cause of Save the Children. With people like Mary in the World every child Matters.

Wayne Dyer comments on people like Mary, who are Tribe Leaders who have the courage to act out what they believe in, even if it makes them un-popular at times. what she does is not meant to offend or hurt people's feelings but she doesnt have 19 life times in which to achieve her life's purpose.

She has only one like the rest of us, the world will know that this lady existed many years after she has gone and what she does 'Makes all the Difference'

MESSAGE FOR MARY: You are Amazing! and you will bring about transformational change to enrich the lifes of others. It's people like you who actually do save the people's lives

I went to work the next motivated and ready to make the difference within my own job

    Thank you Mary

    Wendy from Bradford, West yorkshire
