A behind-the-scenes look at new sci-fi film 'Pitch Black'.

This documentary takes a sneak preview at the film and interviews the cast and crew who brought it to life.

In the not-too-distant future, docking pilot Fry (Radha Mitchell) makes a forced crash-landing of her spacecraft on a distant planet. Fry's crew is killed, but a handful of the 40 passengers survive, including lawman Johns (Cole Rauser) and his prisoner, the murderous Riddick (Vin Diesel). Survival is tough with Riddick on the loose and no water in sight. But as all three suns set and the planet is plunged into total darkness, the survivors have even more to fear.

Learn more about the survivors of the deep space transporter Hunter-Gratzner, including the psychopathic Riddick, the desolate and deadly planet where they crash-landed, and why the survivors should be afraid of the dark in Sci·Fi's one-hour special.

A handsomely photographed, briskly directed sci-fi fright picture, "Pitch Black" proves that low-budget genre-based entertainment can be ferociously inventive. Visually self-assured and featuring top-notch special effects (don't miss the brilliant eclipse scene), David Twohy's "Pitch Black" looks set to take the UK box office by storm this autumn.
