Running Time: 60 minutes (approx)

This touching and candid film follows the celebrated writer, broadcaster and campaigner Darcus Howe as he attempts to understand and come closer to his troubled youngest son, as well as face up to his own failings as a father. Amiri has repeatedly found himself in trouble with the law, and Darcus believes that he is representative of a whole 'lost generation' of young black men. Born in Trinidad, Amiri came to live in Britain after he witnessed the bloody attempted assassination of his stepfather. He then stood trial for being in possession of stolen passports. He has also been in trouble with the law for a range of offences, including shoplifting and alleged rape. Darcus is on a mission to 'save' his son, and prevent him from throwing away his future by going to prison or ending up dead. Father and son struggle through a dramatic series of setbacks, and at the end of the film arrive at a moving reconciliation on a chaotic trip to the countryside.
