im a 21 yeard old young lady, from leeds. and i watched the cctv cities wigan, last night and i cant tell you how disgraced i was by how the police handled the situiations, one in particular ( when the coloured man, hhad teo knives trying to stab the two guys in the street) WHY THE HELL DID HE ONLY GET A SUSPRENDED SENTENCE, FROM MY POINT OF VIEW THAT WAS ATTEMPTED MURDER ! !. IF THAT KNIFE GOT THE MAN, HE WOULD BE DEAD, DONT YOU AGREE. SO MY QUESTION NOW IS. WHY IS EVERONE HAVING ALL THESE DEBATES AND PROGRAMMES ABOUT STOP KNIFE AND GUN CRIME. WHEN YOUR SHOWING PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT IF THEY TRY TO STAB SOMEONE, THEY ONLY GET A SLAP ON THE WRIST. I HATE THE FACT THAT ITS MY GENERATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE BEING LED ASTRAY, AND NONE OF YOU ARE DOING ANYTHNIG TO HELP,M BUT ARE MAKING IT WORSE. CANT YOU SEE ! ! !

Im a 21 year old young woman, trying to get my life on track, my carrer is to be a social worker and youth worker

to try and stop the next generation of young people to not go down that road because all it leads to is darkness. and all these programmes are not helping.

You should be ashamed to say you all are tryin to stop it ! ! !

i have just been watchinf cctv blackburn

i was amazed at the petty crimes the

police arrested some people for, i had to laugh at the police office almost crying that someone put two fingers up at him hahahaha what a waste of police time and tax payers money,to arrest someone for that,on the hole the police do a good job but i think the need to put things into prospecive, two fingers being put up hurts no one hahaha the police use to much force for some crimes just because they have a uniform on does not mean thay can act like they own the world. force when needed fair enough but lately i have seen the police useing far to much force for little more than speaking your mind

I understand that cctv infringes on privacy but i'm, watching the programme at the moment. And it amazes me to see the fine line between conviction and escape and its all thanks to these camera's and the people who operate them!! Keep up the good work!!

iam a serving police officer and i think cctv cities shows (a little) of what police work is really like.

the chap mentioned by 'iyesha' was handled well by the police - its the crown procecution service and the courts who dish out the punishments, police are pretty much powerless.
