    Claire, yes you can, I went about 8 years ago with a company called Northern Light. They have a website and sail weekly in the summer from Oban. Well worth the trip as well!

    Who does Dan Snow's research? For a historian he makes lots of assumptions. I loved the 3 programmes but the lack of hard fact on the local history annoyed me. So 'the plane crashed because of instrument failure' ... did it? What about lack of visibility due to sea mist, seabirds, pilo error , heartattack? All possibilities. As some evacuees from St Kilda are still alive their story would have made the history more interesting.

    Good photography though.

    The programme about St Kilda was fascinating. My phone kept on ringing with friends and family telling me to watch this wonderful programme. I have read a little about St Kilda but this brought history/nature to life in a spellbinding way.
