My brother wasborn weighing over 10lb in 1984, my father, who's 52, was born weighing 13lb (to a five foot woman!) and my great aunt, who's in her 80s was a 14lb baby when she was born. In our family it looks like we're getting smaller (I hope so as I'm pregnant with my first!!).

I hope this program is informative rather than sensationalizing!

I was 7 1/2 stone when I fell pregnant with my son who weighed in at over 11lb's and junk food never passed my lips at the time!

My daughter weighed over 10lb's and my youngest was 7 1/2lb's at 5 weeks early...

Nor do they crave Junk food now!

I agree with Vicki B. I would hate people to think that all big babies are the result of bad diets. I am 5ft 1" and 17 yrs ago (7 12 oz when I got pregnant) gave birth to my fourth child who was 10 1/2 lbs. the previous 3 were between 7 10oz and 7 14oz I ate wholefoods and was healthy.I gave birth naturally and could do my pelvic floor excercises the next day. At 48 yrs I still weigh 7st 12 oz. My son is 6 ft but is slim. Interestingly my husband was 11lbs when he was born.

All my babies were over 10lb 10, and it wasnt a result of me being obese, or diabetic. I had all of them naturally and my biggest was 12lb. They were really healthy and not at all fat just big! The documentary could have looked at the positive side aswell!

In May 2006 I had a 11 LB 6 OZ Baby Boy, I'm not obese, far from it actually nor am I addicted to fast food. In fact while I was pregnant I found it hard to keep anything down because of indigestion (heartburn), though I looked like I was carrying twins ... I blame it on the gaviscon and milk that I comsumed during the pregnancy!

It was a great shock that I had such a huge baby but it wasn't due to my size or anything I done just happened. After I gave birth I was advised that I would need a tummy tuck, and they were right, I've just had it done, I had soooo much excess skin thanks to that pregnancy.

Don't think I'll have anymore though, just incase the next one is BIGGER !!!!

That programme indicates that all big babies are due to unhealthy fat or diabetic women. This is not the case. I have had two children weighing 9lb 11oz and then recently 11lb 4oz at birth. I am not overweight or diabetic. My second baby was perfectly healthy and not fat. He was 62cm long! I don't know how he fit inside me. My eldest is 2 1/2 and is slim and active. Big babies don't mean big and/or fat children.

i have just had my fourth baby who weighed 11 lb 8oz,i never ate any junk food whilst pregnant and am a size 10 so sometimes it is just down to genes not being overweight.my first was 8lb 7,second 9lb 9 and third 9lb 11.people are always shocked when i tell them my childrens birth weights considering my size, and all my children are all slim and tall not overweight.i think the program was wrong to suggest that it is just overweight women who have large babies or that bad diet is to blame.
