Hell's Canyon

Series 6, episode 8

Bear Grylls travels to some of the most hostile areas in the world, using his expertise to demonstrate how to survive in the harshest of conditions. This week Bear ventures into Hell's Canyon in Oregon, the world's deepest river gorge. He pole vaults his way off cliffs and over streams, before crossing the massive Snake River; taking on powerful white water rapids. Bear scavenges bone marrow from a deer carcass and armed with a spear goes night fishing. Heading out of the valley he enters the snow line: a frozen wasteland fraught with danger. Bear overcomes obstacles including a steep ice climb and a frozen lake before falling into the ice cold water. He manages to pick up the trail of a recent kill and tracks a hunter to get to safety.
