    Dear Tommy and Crew,

Would you consider helping me and my boys create a New York style basketball court at the bottom of our garden? My eldest son Bayleigh loves basketball but unfortunatley had to give it up due to having extensive corrective surgery on both feet. He is beginning to walk again using crutches and longs for the day when he can shoot some hoop again! We have a basketball hoop sat on the grass from where he sits to practice his shots.I am a single mum of three boys and with the help of my wonderfull Dad have acheived so much in the garden so far, but this project has beat us! We have removed the old green houses but the concreting and brickwork are too heavy a labour for us! It would be all of my three sons dreams come true to have their own mini basketball court, please consider us. Many thanks for reading.

    Andrea, Bayleigh, Otis and Kofi.

Dear Tommy, I have recently been discharged from the RAF and purchased a Victorian town house with my boyfriend. Because of the age of the house we had a full survey carried out which found just a few minor problems for example the Chimney needed re-pointing. Because we received copies of the damp proofing guarentee we had the same builder come into our house to honour his guarentee and because he was happy to come back we employed him for all other works to be done. He presented us with a quotation stating that he would begin work on the 30th April and that all work carried out would take only 10 days I thought this was slightly ambitious but i had 3 months worth of wages to oversee the renovation. He also presented us with a copy of his cartificate for the Chartered Institute of Builders leaving us with the confidence that he was a professional. Everything that has been carried out by his company in my house is an absoloute shambles and a disgrace to the building profession. They have ruined the solid oak flooring I bought to name just one of their disasters. Now 4 months on the house is in a worse state than when they started and we have recently discovered that his certificate is a fraud. We have spoken to a solicitor and they have said that because we have only paid half of the total bill he could use that against us in a claim and that proving what they have done wrong would be difficult. I am heartbroken that what should have been a beautiful first property is still a building site and that the work that he has carried out all needs re-done. The distress alone that this man has caused and yet he gets to walk away scot free. Is there anything which can be done considering he lulled us in with false documentation?

    Hi,

I have an external well which i have taken down to ground level. I wish to cover this with glass so it can be walked over. I think a retaining wall will need erecting around 1/2 of the well to the upper level of the garden and patio laying to the well so at the same level. I have renovated the majority of our 250 yr old cottage myself but am stumped by this problem, any ideas?

Hi Tommy. I am a full time mum of 24yrs old with a full time job, my 40yr old husband has recently had a heart attack and cannot do the jobs he planned to do this summer such as our garden which is 90ft by 50ft which we would love to have decking and a play area for our 2yrs old daughter my husband would also like to build a brick built storage area after our garden shed was broken into and almost everything was stolen, to store his motor bike and garden tools and furniture. We cannot afford to get this all done as my husband is now out of work for a while due to his health. We would love it if you would consider taking this project on. I can make as many cups of tea as you can drink.

eTommy and Al, I need help and thought this would make a brilliant and entertaining programme! My son has just become Welsh Under 16 Junior snooker champion, he's now 13. We have just moved into our dream house with a double garage and large garden which has massive potential.I was hoping to get a snooker table installed so my son could practice and reach his full potential (Ladbrookes odds today are 33/1 of him becoming snooker world champion by age 30)but the garage is too small, there is the possibility of installing an alpine shed!we are situated on the beautiful gower coast with endless mugs of tea and three beautiful village pubs. p.s.love your shows.

    Hi Tommy, Hi Big Al,

I have been in the motor trade the last 10 years and always been a keen DIY'er and a follower of your programmes since Ground Force. So much so I have given it all up to be a handy man and enter the property market. I have a number of projects running in my home and really really need a hand with a conservatory erection and garden makeover. It would be a real boost and I'm confident it'll make great TV as I share the same humour as you guys, (oh and Sally makes great tea and cakes). I am a huge fan of yours and Al's work and both your personalities on screen make for great viewing. Please consider our request, we would love to welcome you both to sunny (!!) Donny.

Dedicated followers of 'Tommy' who has inspired us, 'If they can do it so can we...' So, we sold our Council House, to buy a place to do up, BUT... none available in this area, like hens teeth, so, with the money we were able to buy a 50 acre 11th century farm/village in Normandy France.(15 mins from Caen Ferry) It came with PP for all the buildings to be converted, our plan is to convert to living, for deprived city, children to have educational and fun holidays, as we are a stones throw from amazing activities here. No TV etc here yet,

We have to keep popping back to watch the recorded programmes to help us with the renovation tips, and so far so good but could do with some help as it's just Steve and I and it's hard and slow going... what would we do without Tommy,, our total inspiration... can you spare the lads for a few weeks.. paid of course..to give us a leg up...

We were so sorry to find that our message was not understood as this means so much to us. We have gone through so much over the last two years and finally getting our kitchen extension would be wonderful. We don't know how else to go about this now except to ask Tommy to come and do a show. He seems like such a kind person and we need some kindness in our lives. Our kitchen extension, for which we have plans and planning permision for was something to look forward too but, couldn't get it of the ground. Since then a lot of things have taken our time and sadly we are worn out with grief. If Tommy could do this extension for us it would lift our hearts and be a new beginning for us. thank you.

    Hi Tommy

We bought our house about three years ago and worked like bulldozers on the garden, which, at the time was nothing but an overgrown field of weeds and brambles - not to mention the rusty prams, barbed wire, builders debris and the old tiled fireplace that was buried there. In the summer our garden looks lovely and we have built a huge pond which is full of frogs.

The only problem we have with the house is that the kitchen is small and poorly designed. We have come up with a solution that would solve the problem of the kitchen and have the added advantage of allowing us to enjoy the garden, which at present we cannot really see - a single storey extension.

We had an architect draw up the plans which the council approved. That was two years ago and all that our extension is, is an unfulfilled dream.

We were looking forward to our new kitchen and thought it was going to be built in Spring 2006, after a year of waiting our builders said they didn't have the time to spare.

We had no success finding a suitable replacement no matter how hard we tried.

We haven't been helped by devastating personal tragedies and the problems have been mounting up and we fear now that our plans will never happen.

We hope you and the team will consider our challenge and bring back some sunshine to our lives, thank you.

My son and his family live in Trowbridge Wiltshire and have done plenty of their own renovations with the help of my husband. They have two young children and now find that the front porch is coming away from the house and literally falling down. Feeling that this is quite a big job to be doing themselves and not having much building experience I hope you will concider them for one of your projects.

    Thanks Anita Silk

i have had no response locally for a quote to convert loft space in bungalow after watching your programme i appeal to you and your team to consider putting loft conversion for staircase and large bedroom and family bathroom. i am partially sighted as a result of having diabetes and the work is beyond me now. but as i stated before i cannot find anyone interested to give us a quote never mind actually doing the work i do not mind paying a good price for the work but cannot find anyone, you are my last hope, i know that where i live is remote but hope you and your team can help, please consider us in your workload thanks

I love the challenge program and I have a number of projects that may be suitable for new program or program filler from replacement roof's both flat and tiled, replace a raised patio and steps and replace a poorly layed large tarmac driveway.

P.S. I will stick the kettle on in case

My husband Martin watches all the programmes and the other day while watching the programme with him we both had the same thought. Our property is built on a steep bank and the garage goes back into the garden so that the pitched roof is above ground in our garden like a big tent. We have thought about removing the roof and making a patio on top of a new flat roof so that we have a nice flat useable area instead of a U shape around the garage roof. We are sure it would make a really unusual challenge for Tommy and make interesting viewing.

Being a pensioner, I watch your shows as often as I can. I am relaying my kitchen floor. Having pulled up the hardboard tiles that were on the floor, I found that they were glued down. How do I get the glue off, that is still sticking to the floor boards? Please reply soon as I intend to relay the floor (not the floor boards) within the next day or two.

    THANK YOU.

Both myself and my husband love to watch all the DIY shows but most of all we love to watch Tommy and Alan. What I love most of all is how they get you involved with the work and how to do things their way. We have had some work started on our house but had to let the builder go, therefore we are in limbo with a half finished garage conversion and decking. We would love the opportunity to meet and work with you both so please come and vist us in North Wales.

    Hi Tommy, love the show!

I wonder if you could help my brother Graeme, he lives in a very old Gothic house that has been turned into flat's, BUT not very well, mainly damp.

Would be great if you and your team could help. Thanks Gill

We both watch Tommy all the time, we like the banter that goes on between them. It makes good watching and the projects they do are amazing they make it all look so easy but its not. I have a big challenge for him, it is my back garden. It slopes down from the top of the garden pretty steep I have a disability so I cannot do much at all. My partner works for himself so its the time factor with him taking time off to do it but he is not a gardener and we have no idea really what we are going to do with the garden or how to go about it. We look out and it is just a nightmare, we cannot sit out in the summer We have garden furniture but no garden so to speak of to put it in so it remains in the shed. Its not a massive garden at all but just steep as I said, its driving me mad looking out onto it. It would be a good challenge for him to do.. Im sure he would take one look and so no.

    regards Carolyn
