Why do they not advise us on the best way of getting details of properties coming up for auction and how to find properties in a particular area?

I have been told by a friend that an episode around April time featured my old house in Canvey Island - it was the first house my husband and I bought; he passed away 4 years ago so I would dearly love to see this programme and be able to show my children where we lived then. Does anyone know if it's possible to view old episodes online?
Thanks!

I cannot see the relevance of this programme at all in the current economic climate (June 2008). In fact I find it very insulting and offensive. Repeating programmes from two years ago is bad news and holds no truth in the property market at the moment.
Please take it off now.
The BBC is acting exceptionally irresponsible and seems to show no care at all for people’s feelings.

Have you considered the desirability of showing this progamme and similar ones at a time of rapidly falling property prices, and the prospect of serious financial problems for many. I know broadcasters need cheap TV, but there are ethical questions here.

In response to Lisa's March 22nd question, I believe the pub in question is in Woolage Green in Kent.

any way of finding out what houses look like now when they weren't finished on the actual programme - the one i'm interested in is the former presbyterian church in south wales which was on tv on 18th April 2008. (and a few others!)

The profit never seems to include the mortgage, council tax, rates and so on paid while the refurbishment was taking place and must be payable even if the people live elsewhere? This could add thousands to the cost if the development takes a while? Please include it. Also, it would be nice to know where items of furniture and unusual fittings were purchased.
Log structures are increasing in popularity for a range of applications. Now, thanks to an agreement between Avalon Timber Frame Homes and Riverbend Log Homes of Canada high quality log houses, cottages, lodges and even home offices are available in the UK.

CAPITAL GAINS TAX????
Watched lots of episodes of HUTH but there's never any reference to Capital Gains Tax that sellers may have to pay when profits are discussed.
Could you elaborate please.

I realise that there is a lot to be learned re. the pitfalls of purchasing these properties but this last season the number of times you return to unfinished properties has definitely curbed my enjoyment of your programme.
Surely you could give us a minimum of one finished property in every programme.

I am looking for the area in which a pub was featured. It was bought by a mother and son-her husband died 2 years previously. The pub and living accomodation upstairs was also renovated. The pub i believe was called THE TWO SAWYERS, and Lucy Alexander did the interview. The lady in question said that she had come full circle in her life because she was born in the area and her father lived in the area. I would like to know the area where the pub is as i would like to visit it. I hope you can help. Many thanks.

Hello there. I love watching Homes Under The Hammer. What is the piece of music called when the Estate Agents re-visit a property. It sounds quite jazzy.
