Why let your antiques collect dust in the attic when you can sell them? Take money on the spot from a dealer - or if you think the item’s worth more, turn the dealer down and choose to sell at auction instead. Host David Dickinson keeps an eye on the deals and give advice when needed: should you take the dealers’ cash or gamble at auction? When is Dickinson's Real Deal next on TV? In the UK... it's next showing on ITV1 London Today, 2:00pm and on ITV1 London December 14th, 2:00pm. See more...

I wonder if you can explain why every programme of Real Deal that I have watched and I am a keen watcher, when the competition starts on every programme the viewer is told that the competition has already closed. Unless I am mistaken how can you stand a chance of being in the competition at any time if you do phone in. It really puzzles me so can you please explain.I still keep watching even if I have no chance. Jean Hutt
Please tell me the name of the voice over on Dickinsons Real Deal; is it Bet Lynch ex-corrie star
Yours faithfully
Mrs C Tendler
What is the name of that lush gay guy with the fabulous expressins called? I think he's well sexy....pity he's gay!
Hi there, do the sellers get told the independent valuation before they see the dealers? Many thanks, Tracey
Please how come dickingson has adopted the name the Duke!!? he is no Duke no more than I am a DUCHESS!!
B J GREEN
We are fed up of David Dickinson "creeping in" when an experienced dealer, is just about to close the deal. Dickinson advises the seller to go to auction, because the item is worth more. When at auction, and the reserve or price isnt met, and doesnt bring as much as the dealer offered, he must forget what he said to the seller, -he just says 2well thats auctions for you"!! And i agree, no way should he be called the Duke. He definatly is not one. Also he bidded against another bidder at the auction today, and won a clock. Thats not on.
I would love to know what nationality ian towning is? I think he's fabulous and his clothes are amazing!
I do wish they'd change the lady who does the voice-over in Real Deal....her voice is dreadful, so grating!!
Really interested to know where Ian Towning is from, or his background, it frustrates me every time I watch.
I'd love to know where Ian's accent is from too - been trying for ages to place it.
I am racking my brains to determine the nationality of Ian Towning, I think he is brilliant and a great addition to Real Deal, A perfect replacement for David Dickenson.
Look forward to watching; especially if Ian Towning is on.
I believe Ian said he was born and educated in India hence his accent. [ his father in the army there.]
Wow! I just love Ian! He maybe gay but I think he is very charismatic and my focus never deters when he is on the screen! He did say recently he was born and bred in India. I just love his flamboyant personality. Does he have a fan club?
Great program. Ian Towning is just the greatest I love all his jewels. He is such a "Gent" I would love to meet him over a coffee and cream bun.
My husband,my mother and myself always try to watch this programme. We love David Dickinson and find Ian interesting and entertaining. Love his jewels! It's not the same when he isn't on. How do we find out where they are going next? Many thanks.
David Dickinson is fantastic! My favourite dealer is the lovely Ian Towning...It's a great programme and even better when Ian is on.
Think Ian is very sexy ..love his tan and gold jewellery suits him very well.
Let me know how he can be contacted
Many thanks

Yes I enjoy the programme especially from the beginning but I am finding myself irritated by David Dickinson's constant unnecessary interruptions as the 'Dealers' are about to do the business. He keeps putting is head between the punter/dealer even when the "flow" is on for a Deal. We all know why the show is so named but let us the public enjoy the barter, objects & the lovely people who make this 'so far' a very educational & interesting. programme. The Dealers are wonderful & honest, if they were allowed to do the bis.
Me thinks he is getting TOO big for his boots, in my opinion.
I am fascinated by dealer Ian Towning, especially the jewellery he wears. There are two pieces which intrique me the ring he wears featuring what I think is an old amethyst and the gold collar with the emerald drop from it. Is Ian descended from Romany's as he purchased a rather lovely miniature tea set in Crown Derby and did say he was keeping it? My own particular area is Scottish painting 1600-present. I also have a love of good emeralds but can't afford them!
Could you please tell David Dickinson that
nobody is going to steal the camera's so
Please stop looking into the camera when you are talking to a Seller, & also please stop repeating the Amounts that the auctioneer has just said on the screen,it gets so annoying. Though David is not the only Presenter to do this "Tim Wannacot" also thinks that someone will steal the Camera whilst he is not looking. K.C.
I think Ian Towning is just fantastic, he is so charismatic and charming I would love to meet him and have a chat and cup of coffee or perhaps a glass of wine. The programme is great but I love it more when Ian is on, and I am a woman of lets say mature years.
My wife and I are also great fans of Ian Towning. He should have a show of his own.
I think that that Ian puff is quite cute and would like to lick him !
I love ian and think he is so sexy
my matr keef thinks ian's voice makes the program
MY MATE KEEF WOULD LIKE IAN TO START THE BIDDING AT 50 POUNDS!
Can I contact James Layte? If so, how?
I think the new lady Alison is a stunner! Where is her shop?
Pleas can you tel me what accent, Ian Towning has.
i have an oil on slate painting by
J Whitehand -- he is the brother of famous painter Michael J Whitehand. does anyone know if it is of any value - it was painted in 1977
We are getting fed up with dickinsons patronising manners. Not content with interfering and advising he is now ordering the dealers to offer more.He talks over the auctioneer as though we cannot hear what is being said and talks to the camera as though we were all slightly backward.
I am going to ban my husband from watching as he keeps swearing at the TV.
Solution- we tape it and watch later so we can fast forward through all his boring bits.
do u no when they came to bangor on 5th of july, when is that episode gnna be on tv?
i recently found a Millefiori paperweight while clearing out my uncles house.I know it to be at least 100yrs old.I saw one on your programe a few weeks ago.can you suggest how to get it valued many thanks
Would it be possible to get a valuation by return of E-MAIL without having to attend one
of the programme venues?
i think ian is fab !!!!!
how do you get to meet your dealers with an item?
mr f. hill
Hi, I have a watercolour painting which is of a boating scene and is signed in the right hand corner by a R Gould 1919. It is in a very old battered frame.
I also another frame that contains a drawing signed J F Millet I believe the picture is called Le lecon de lecturer. The picture is in the middle and in the left hand top corner written in pencil is Helen Th. Rousseau Barbizon-
Under the picture itself again in pencil is written Marcel Jacque- En souvenir de votre visite ici Barbizon le 6 avril (1772 0r 1972), Marcel Jacque-
In the bottom right corner again in pencil it reads Eau forte et aquaull de Marcel Jacque d'apres le dessin de J F Millet
Very faintly at the botton the actual picture is written Marcel Jacque
The paper this is on beige in colour
I also have two very old prints of SS St Louis, they are black and white and the frames appear ancient. I believe the prints are of its maiden voyage?
Any information on any of these pictures would be much appreciated.
Julie Lewis
I acquired these at boot sale about 10 years ago because they looked interesting.
Don't get me wrong I do like David Dickinson, but I do feel that sellers should be the option before a program is filmed, that if they wish to an opinion from Mr Dickinson can be ivited rather than him constantly popping in and out every two minutes. no disrespect intended. Many Thanks Mrs B. Nicol
Love the show, love The Duke and I really like the new blonde lady Alison Chapman she is always so kind!
hello, in the background of one of the auction houses used in the filming of dickinsons real deal, there is a print/picture depicting a boy slipping on ice out in the country.he is being harrassed by dogs who are trying to steal his christmas fayre, ie chicken, sausages etc.i think the picture is by someone called beardsley. i have inherited a print of this which has been in my mothers family for about 100 years give or take a bit.the condition is not very good but i have loved it since i was a little lad.now is it possible to get an idea of its value, and also can i get a new copy anywhere. youre assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated by many members of my family.thanking you in anticipation of a reply. keep up the brilliance that is dickinsons real deal.yours faithfully, phil little.
I love the show, so pleased the new series has started again. The new Lady Alison Chapman always looks so glamorous, when does she get her clothes? Who does her hair? I love the Duke he is king!! thank you!
i love to wath the show every day
I think your new dealer Helen Gardiner is fantastic
I love the programme pity about Dickenson - why doesn't he look at the buyer rather than the camera - he says "I will increase the prize money" - HE WILL??? or is it us
It's only her 3rd show but I love Helen's voice
Helen Gardiner is someone I can relate to. The show is very good
