Series charting the history of the best of British comedy looks at Carla Lane's 1980s hit sitcom Bread, based around the antics of the Boswell clan in Liverpool. The programme reveals that the show wasn't without controversy - many Liverpudlians initially resented Bread for its portrayal of a Liverpool family on the make at the expense of the DHSS. Also, the cast explain how it felt to go from unknown actors to pop star fame, and also how they reacted to working with Paul and Linda McCartney.
