Homer watches Bart and Lisa tell horror stories in the treehouse on Halloween night. First Bart tells the tale of Bad Dream House, where the Simpsons move into a living house built on an Indian burial ground. Then, in Hungry Are the Damned, the family are abducted by cycloptic space aliens who continuously feed and entertain them, leading Lisa to believe that they are to be eaten by the aliens. Finally, Lisa reads the Edgar Allen Poe poem The Raven to Bart, starring Homer who mourns his lost love Lenore and Bart as the Raven.
