Homer tests drives an electric car so that he can win a prize, a test screening of a remake of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington which stars Mel Gibson. When Homer is the only one who admits his disgust for the film, Mel Gibson thinks he may be the only honest person, and that everybody else is just being nice. He hires Homer to help him remake the film to Homer's tastes, while the rest of the Simpson family tour Hollywood.
